This turmeric latte is truly one of the best ones I’ve tried. It’s creamy and delicious with a hint of sweetness and a healthy alternative to coffee.
You can add more or less turmeric and cinnamon depending on how strong you like it. The same goes with the honey (or any type of sweetener of your choice).
This turmeric latte is loaded with antioxidants which are helpful for allergies which I suffer from. Turmeric also reduces inflammation and joint pain, improves memory and brain function (who doesn’t want that), protects against heart disease, lowers blood sugar levels, reduces your risk of cancer, and last but not least has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.
With all these amazing benefits why not give a turmeric latte a chance? It might be your next favorite drink! For more benefits of turmeric, visit banyanbotanicals.
Ingredients
1 cup coconut milk (250 ml)*
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
Instructions
Pour the milk into a saucepan and cook over high heat until it’s hot, but don’t bring it to a boil.
Remove from the heat and add the rest of the ingredients. Stir and try the milk, add more milk, turmeric, cinnamon or syrup if needed.
We used a milk frother to get a better texture, but it’s optional. You can also blend the hot milk with the rest of the ingredients in a blender if you want.
Notes
*I used unsweetened coconut milk, and also tried soy milk but if you use any sweetened plant milk, try the latte before adding the sweetener and add it gently if needed.
